Ghost (real name Castle Cranshaw) wants to be the fastest sprinter on his elite middle school track team - but his past is slowing him down. A National Book Award Finalist for Young People's Literature. From PW's starred review: ''Substantial emotional resonance and humor.''
Kathleen's review - This book for kids aged 8 to 12 is about a boy who gets into trouble and can't control his anger. But one day he sees some kids in a track team and he reckons he can run faster than any of them. So he does, just for fun . . . and when the coach asks him to join the team he decides he might as well.
Told in the voice of the boy, Ghost, this is an excellent story. I loved it.
